1. Find the IP of your SNOM phone device

On the phone keypad, press the Help button (marked ? and/or Help), on the display you will see a URL like that will look something like this: http://10.2.101.90

Visit this URL in your browser (type it in the address bar), making sure that it starts with 'http', not 'https'. This will bring you to the admin interface for your SNOM.

Note that your computer has to be in the same network as the SNOM phone device.

If you are not in admin mode, then you can find out how to achieve admin mode at the following article from SNOM: http://wiki.snom.com/FAQ/How_can_I_set_the_phone_back_to_admin_mode_or_factory_defaults_respectively

2. On the left-hand menu there will be several numbered identities from which to choose (for example 'Identity 2'), which correspond to different phone lines. Click one to set it up. At the top of the following box there should be four tabs; make sure you are in the 'Login' tab.

babelforce will have provided you with a telephone number, a domain name, an Agent ID number and a password. In the 'Displayname' field enter the new telephone number and in the 'Account' field type the Agent ID number. In the 'Password' field enter the provided password. Finally, in the 'Registrar' field enter the domain name (this should always be 'sip.babelforce.com').

Further down, there should be a field marked 'Display text for idle screen'. Put in this whatever you would like the phone screen to display when inactive. We recommend that it include your Agent ID number.

If they are all filled in correctly, the 'Login' tab should look like this:

Click 'Apply', and if prompted by a warning message above the box, click 'Save'.

3. Next to 'Login' click the tab marked 'SIP'. In the box underneath set the 'Proposed Expiry' value to 180 and the 'Server Type Support' to 'Asterisk' from its drop-down menu. All other settings should correspond to this image:

Click 'Apply', and if prompted by a warning message above the box, click 'Save'.

4. Now click the 'NAT' tab. This should produce a smaller box. Set the 'STUN server (IP-addr:port)' to 'stun.babelforce.com', the 'STUN interval (seconds)' value to 3600 and the 'Keepalive interval (seconds)' value to 30:

Again, make sure to click 'Apply', and if prompted by a warning message above the box, click 'Save'.

5. Click on the last tab marked 'RTP' and one of two boxes should appear. There will either be a set of drop-down menus, or a smaller box beginning with a 'Codec' field.

If it is the drop-down menus, then just ensure that the first one (entitled 'Codec 1' is set as the 'G.711a' option. If it is the second, then delete all elements from the field except for the 'pcma' element. Leave the other settings, so that the box looks like this:

Click 'Apply', and if prompted by a warning message above the box, click 'Save'.

6. On the left-hand menu click on 'Advanced'. A bigger box should appear, with another set of tabs across the top. Click the 'Update' tab to the far right. Empty the 'Setting URL' field and ensure that 'PnP Config' is set to 'off'.

Finally, click the 'Apply' button directly underneath 'PnP Config', which should prompt a 'Reboot' message. Click on that and allow the phone to reboot itself.
