3.4 - Sending Survey SMS

Our last part is very exciting and opens up, once again, a fully new field. But no worries, it's actually really easy, you will be surprised.

babelforce allows you to send SMS (as long as you bought a SMS enabled number - if you haven't done that yet, get in touch with support@babelforce.com).

To have the SMS send to every customer that calls from a mobile phone, you need to build a trigger and an event.

In the trigger, you check whether the caller is mobile. Use this on the call event Call finished. In the event, you can select "Send SMS" - this means you will only send the SMS if the caller is calling from a mobile number. In the event you can enter a short text message with a link to your survey. Also, you enter the sending phone number or name of the company.

And how does the customer receive the SMS? In the To field, put the place holder for the number that is currently calling your service ({from.number}). Yes, it really is so simple.

You can obviously make things more complex. For instance, you could add a switch to your call flow and check whether the customer is calling from a mobile phone. If she does, you just send the SMS with a local event on the next module. However, if she doesn't, you could add an input reader, asking the customer to enter her mobile number so you can send her the SMS.

If the customer entered her number via DTMF, you fill a variable that could look something like this: {app.inputReader.mobileNumber} (you define the part after app.inputReader.). This variable you use in your SMS event in the To-field.

However, this all goes very far. Later, you will learn much more about Input Reader and variables. We just wanted to give you a little hint what else you might be doing with babelforce.

Anyway, you are done! Now you got all the tips and tricks to create a more complex (and very interesting) call flow for your pet store. Enjoy!

This also completes our third chapter. You should now feel comfortable setting up your own basic intergrations with babelforce.
